The West Yorkshire Savoyards continue to build up a big following across Yorkshire – in 2023 total audiences of around 1000 thrilled to The Gondoliers with house-full signs on the door.

In 2024 we take on the Gilbert and Sullivan gothic melodrama, Ruddigore, not as well-known as some G&S operas, but arguably funnier and more tongue in cheek than ever. Expect all the familiar G&S elements: terrific music, social satire, comic pathos -- but with a seasoning of sinister spectres!

A family curse means a baronet must commit a crime every day or perish. In trying to escape his fate, he encounters dancing sailors, frustrated bridesmaids and a chorus of ghostly ancestors. What could possibly go wrong?!

Be prepared for laughs, thrills and fabulous music in this touring production directed by Graham Weston, who plays Sir Ruthven Murgatroyd, with professional orchestra, conducted by our musical director, Oliver Longstaff.
