On tour in 2026 - The Pirates of Penzance
The West Yorkshire Savoyards continue to build up a big following across Yorkshire – in 2023 total audiences of around 1000 thrilled to The Gondoliers with house-full signs on the door. More than 1000 came to see our 2024 production - Ruddigore, and our 2025 production of Iolanthe filled auditoriums across the north of England as we celebrated 50 years ‘on the road’.
In 2026 we will be staging one of the favourite Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, the swashbuckling ‘Pirates of Penzance’

‘Fun’! That’s the theme of this year’s tour as we give six performances across five regional theatres with our 2026 production of the wonderful, swashbuckling Gilbert and Sullivan masterpiece, The Pirates of Penzance.
This audience favourite, packed full of sentimental pirates, blundering policemen, absurd adventures and improbable paradoxes contains some of Sullivan's most memorable melodies and Gilbert’s quick-fire humour.
Frederic, a pirate’s apprentice, falls head-over-heels in love with Mabel, the daughter of Major-General Stanley but there’s a snag. Although very much in love, his dedication to duty is unshakeable. Can they find a way to live happily-ever-after?!
Audiences were thrilled with last year’s visit by the ‘Savs’ and this year’s touring production is not to be missed. Directed by comic-actor and ‘patter-man’, Graham Weston, the two shows include full sets, costumes and professional orchestra conducted by musical director, Oliver Longstaff.
